The launcher was unable to download a required file
(/sync/launcher/15/sync.launch?15.1372002952322).

If it is the first time this problem occurs, try running Magelo Sync once again.

Go to www.magelo.com and check the forums for further help.


1. Launch halts with the above message (yesterday and today)

2. link for "www.magelo.com" is OK,
link to "forums" goes to " http://eq.magelo.com/forums.jspa"
when it should be " http://eq.magelo.com/forums/forums.jspa"

Hi Temperance,

That's strange, it usually mean that you are blocking Magelo Sync connection with a firewall... If you are sure it's not the case, I would suggest to uninstall Magelo Sync , download it again (I pushed a new version yesterday) and re install it to check if it somehow solve the issue.

Prior to it not working I changed the icon to point back at itself.
For some reason Windows 8 was showing a generic icon.

Previously used custom install directory with no problems. Uninstaller ONLY wants to uninstall from C:\Program Files\... no matter where you installed it.
Uninstalled Magelo, updated Java to v7u21, restarted, installed Magelo to default location.
Launched, updated itself. However...

X Unable to retrieve character's status. [press OK]
An error has occurred during the synchronization.
Please try again later. [press OK]
  • left Neighborhood Guild Hall, went to Guild Lobby then Guild Hall, same thing
  • went back to Guild Lobby, same thing.
  • quit Magelo Sync, relaunch, launch is good, sync? same error. It is correct with the zone name and targeted NPC, just no saving the profile.

I will try again later.

Thanks Temperance for those details.
Your initial issue has been fixed but another one is now preventing you to sync. 2 other users also reported the same problem (error message 'Unable to retrieve character's status').
We are looking into it and we will keep you posted.

Yes, fixed! Tried again after a period of rest and the sync succeeded on each character.
