EverQuest has been patched and as per usual, Magelo Update will be down until Jelan has had a time to patch it. Downtime could be between several hours and several days, depending on how much the SOE team changed around in the EverQuest code.

Please stay tuned for an update!

Everytime I try to update I get an error message stating that there has been a recent update, but based on forums it's been fixed. Is there any update pending, or is my computer just hating magelo?

Are you running Windows Vista? If so make sure both EQ and Magelo update are running as administrators in Windows XP sp2 compatability mode.

If not Vista, are you trying to update from an unsupported server (test?)

How do you get Magelo Update to run as administrator if you are starting it from the website? I know you can right click on the program icon if you have it downloaded, but I removed Magelo from my computer a while ago because I thought it was corrupted. Now I don't have the Magelo icon anymore, I can't figure out how to get it back, and I don't know how to make any program run as an administrator if you're starting it from a website clicky.

Life would be much easier if I weren't such a computer idiot.

Nilbus ~ Thank you SO much! I was ready to give up, although I was pretty sure it was due to a Vista issue, I didn't know what to check. Very much appreciated.

gkalala, look at our FAQ, there is an entry which explains this.
