I am now getting this message from Magelo Sync now.
Invalid Descriptor.
Download descriptor seems to be invalid. Report this error and we will fix it as soon as possible.
I've tried Magelo Sync several times and I am still getting this error.

This issue is pretty weird, I cant reproduce it on my main computer however my laptop does feature it and at the same time, there is nothing wrong with the descriptor...
Easiest way to get rid of it is to quickly uninstall Magelo sync and then re install it by download the updated MageloSyncSetup.exe

I downloaded the new magelo execute as advised and now the problem is even worse. Now I get a pop up window saying that I need to put Java on my machine. Now I happen to have Java 7 Update 55, Java 7 Update 55(64-bit), and Java 8 Update 111. Magelo just refuses to work.

I uninstalled Magelo Sync, then downloaded and installed a new Magelo Sync, and all seem to be working fine now.

Never mind. I went to the main Java site and downloaded the Java 8 111 (64-bit) and now Magelo seems to be working. Just takes a little finesse and luck finding the right combo for your machine. Thanks for all the tips guys.

I had the same issue.
Uninstalled magelo from programs and features. Then I downloaded magelo again and installed it.
Everything works again!

I am getting this issue so I followed the steps, uninstalled and re-installed Sync. I am now getting an error while installing (Error opening file for writing: C:\Program Files\Magelo\Magelo Sync\MageloSync64.exe)
My options are abort, retry (which does nothing) and ignore which completes the install. When I complete the install via ignore, I get the same download descriptor message as before.

My educated guess is Magelo Sync is still running while you try to re install it. Make sure it's not running and try again.

it's strange, it was not running in the background but it is working now! I had two previous installer download files in my download box that I deleted prior and I'm unsure if those had any impact but all clear now. TY
