I deleted the log file. Turned of the program, stopped the service. Restarted. No effect. After a long spinning delay I still get a red X with: "A error has occurred during the synchronization. Please try again."

Having the same issue. Tried different characters on same account and a different account. All had the same result - lengthy spinning & the big red X.
