Well I've been a premium user for a while and will continue to be. I did the EQ players for 4 days cause I heard they tracked your flags but that is not true, so I canceled it. Magelo has a lot of info available for my use and I love it. I always felt that the $12 price was too low. And I think that $25 price is a fair one. There are a lot of costs associated with running such a site as this one. The server cost, bandwidth, developers, etc. I did have a lot of problems accessing the test site so I changed my web browser. Java does not work well with IE since MS lost the lawsuit over it's virtual java machine but Firefox runs it great. I don't feel that that is Magelo's fault though.
And if people don't like the increase in price then they can always go elsewhere for even more money. I believe, however, that Magelo will still be the best value. I wish I could get all my EQ game accounts for $25/year/account. Just my 2cp worth. Happy hunting all and have a nice day.

Some people here think that you only have 2 choices, Magelo or EQPlayers. Dont forget the third one, dont pay for anything at all. Thats the way i will go, because i dont need the extra features and to be honest, to pay for a community there has to be a community first and not just a collection of Magelo Users.

Like other suggested earlier this thread, please make somekind midprice usertype. I don't need fancy guild tools, EQ2 support, item seach, rankings and so on.
To me only thing worth paying is Updater (cos i am lazy). I sure will not pay 50usd or whatever it would cost me to sync 6 accounts (btw, cant find info what it would cost to "upgrade" my account slots like with old Magelo). I rather pay EQPlayers basic funtion for one account. What else Magelo offers me than custon background and music atm? Beside charter sync...
Unless there news about lower price soon, i will change my guild to use EQPlayers. You will loose several paying customers. I don't see many of my guildies paying Magelo after our guild gives up with Magelo.
PS. It is much harder to gain lost trust back than keep current customers...

Looking at "cezzy's" post, if you are syncing 6 accounts with EQPlayers you need to pay for 6 accounts, one account sync per EQPlayers account. With Magelo you need to pay for 2 accounts. You can sync 3 accounts per Magelo account.
I will further add there seems to be absolutely no support by the Devs on EQPlayers board, they post or answer questions less than once a month. EQPlayers has been broken and with flaws since the day it went live. How frustrating can that be.
I made a suggestion here and it was done within one day. It was an easy fix, but you got to like that kind of customer service. I will continue to support Magelo, for what costs less than a cup of Starbuck's coffee per month.

I sync my profile on EQPlayers and it's perfect vs. in game. Just checked the numbers again and they are fine, so if your gonna complain about reliability, compare with a current account, not with problems they had 6 months ago.

Magelo has not worked for almost 2 months, yea, I know I can manually do it, not much fun, more of a pita, I pay for premium and I get what? A message that says it does not work right now? I doubt if I will be renewing at a higher price when this only works 50% of the year anyway.

Magelo (auto updater and website) have worked for me just fine. If you're seeing that message today for the first time, it's because of the patch today, if this isn't the first time, either use the help feature off to the left or post on the bug report forums with the requested info.

Formo, Magelo is working fine for most of our users. The few remaining issues are investigated and fixed progressively. For example we discovered a subtle bug in Magelo Update this week that prevented the users on a turkish system to synchronize their characters. This is the kind of issue you can hardly guess when developing the application and happen only when it's widely deployed. We are committed to help our users, by fixing the issues and by listening to the feedback and suggestions made to improve the service. This assistance is also a part of the price for the subscription.

Doubling the subscription rate seemed a bit intense at first, I must admit. But after mulling it over, I think it's still well worth the price tag. It saves me a lot of time (I sync often), it's fast, it's functional and it looks GREAT! EQ Players may be accurate but holy mother of Brell, it's the ugliest abomination I've ever laid eyes on...well okay, except for Paris Hilton!
